The staff of the Cochin College has in general kept up its tradition of efficient and dedicated service. Apart from giving instructions to students according to the prescribed syllabus they also aim at the full development of the latent potentialities of the young scholars. It has been the constant endeavour of the teachers to convince the students of the value of education and the need for consistent hardwork. A good number of our teachers possess reasearch degrees and a few of them are university research guides. The most important section of the college community is the teachers on whom depends the quality of the instiution more than on anybody else.

The Department of HINDI is one of the oldest departments of the college established in 1967. There are two well qualified members of staff, of which one is M.Phil and one is Ph.D. The department offers Hindi to the students of BA/B.Sc/B.Com as a second language. There are nearly 1500 books in the Hindi Section of the college Library. Hindi is a very popular second language and most rank holders have shown their prefernce for it. Many of our students have consistently won the first place in Hindi Extempore speech in the M.G. University Youth Festival.
